Bridging the Blues

Chelsea Foundation’s Bridging the Blues programme, funded by the Premier League Foundation and Northwest London NHS, supports people living with long-term health conditions including cardiac, pulmonary, stroke, and cancer recovery. Using exercise as medicine, the programme combines structured physical activity with education to improve physical and mental wellbeing. It also creates safe, supportive spaces where participants can connect through shared lived experiences, helping to reduce isolation and build confidence in managing their health for the long term.

Healthy Schools

A 12-week Healthy Schools Programme is offered in Hammersmith & Fulham for Key Stage 2 students, aiming to promote a healthy lifestyle. The programme consists of one-hour weekly workshops, including class room based and incorporating students learnings with games for physical activities.

It is aligned with Healthy School awards criteria and involves partnerships with organisations like Change4Life, NARF, the Mental Health Foundation, and Chelsea & Westminster Hospital for up-to-date content.

Inclusion and Disability

Chelsea Foundation’s Inclusion and Disability programme enables young people and adults with a range of disabilities to participate in regular football sessions, in a safe and fun environment.

Through the delivery of equality and disability awareness training for coaches and teachers, the Foundation embeds a culture of inclusive sport and physical activity, ensuring disabled people can access the sport or physical activity of their choice, inspiring them to be more active and encouraging them to develop the skills and confidence to realise their potential.

Premier League Players' Project

At Chelsea Foundation, the PL Player’s Project is built on the power of first team player engagement, using their passions for helping the local community. This project focuses on supporting young people in primary schools with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The aim is to support teachers and children to ensure pupils with SEN are receiving inclusive PE practices for strong engagement, long term development and enjoyment.

Spread across a minimum of 10 weeks, Chelsea Foundation staff provide support to teachers during their curriculum PE sessions or through tailored PE sessions for SEN pupils, focusing on inclusive practice, increasing knowledge and increasing confidence. Simultaneously, the children look at themselves as superheroes, focusing on their superpowers such as resilience, teamwork, ambition and kindness.

Proudly funded by the Premier League Foundation, our Premier League Players' Project reflects our commitment to being there for young people every step of the way.
